When you're a player, there is always a schedule to follow.  When you are done, there is no one to guide you and you have to figure "it" out".  Athletic candidates never made it to the traditional career fair. You are  busy training for your sport. Leadership, self-motivation, time management, flexibility and performing under pressure are assets to a corporate culture.
